The Man With the Tool Belt by Stefan Angelina McElvain
Promote Me Please After Dark welcomes Stefan Angelina
McElvain to talk about The Man with the
Tool Belt. As usual, here come five curly questions…
Q.1. Is it a real
tool belt or a metaphorical one?
A real tool belt
A real tool belt
Q.2. Where did the
kernel of the idea for this one come from?
My wife swears by the man. If an item stays on the honey-do list for a few weeks, she gets the man in.

Q.3. Please describe
a supporting character from The Man with the Tool Belt
The man falls in love, but does she love him?
He first meets Roxy when the man is working his day-job, cleaning tables at a coffee shop. He thought she’s cute and gives her his card. He does a job for her, and they start dating, but she’s not ready to settle down with just one man.

Q.4. Do you write
with a grin, a gentle smile, an earnest frown or in a manic panic?
All of the above. The best is the manic panic. I love it when the story takes over. I have no idea what’s going to happen, and I have to write to find out. I’m a big believer…writer’s block is the conflict between what the characters want to do and the author’s preconceived outline.

Q.5. What is your
favourite go-to tool for DIY?
I love Scrivener, and I’m currently looking at the Amazon suite. The carrot of having a book in print without having to buy a few hundred copies is too good not to try out. Ask me again in a few months.
